ArmInfo. The Tourism Committee of Armenia is considering the possibility of cooperation with the St. Petersburg Convention and Exhibition Bureau.

This, as reported by the press service of the department, is  evidenced by the results of the meeting between the Chairperson of  the Tourism Committee of Armenia Lusine Gevorgyan and the General  Director of the St. Petersburg Convention and Exhibition Bureau  Sergey Azarenkov.

According to the source, the meeting took place within the framework  of the MITT 2025 exhibition (International Tourism and Hospitality  Industry Exhibition), which was held from March 18 to 20 in Moscow.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the fields of  culture and tourism.

Earlier, the Tourism Committee reported that a meeting between Lusine  Gevorgyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Edgar Zakaryan and  Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation  Dmitry Vakhrukov was also held on the sidelines of MITT 2025, during  which they discussed the possibilities of strengthening bilateral  cooperation in the field of tourism. Particular attention was paid to  the development of winter tourism, which has great potential for both  countries. The parties emphasized the importance of exchanging  experience in organizing winter recreation and attracting tourists.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, 937,823 tourists from the  Russian Federation visited Armenia in 2024, which is 17.5% lower than  the same period last year.

According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, MITT-25  this year hosted participants from 36 countries, including Tunisia,  China, Turkey, neighboring countries, Cuba, Kenya, Madagascar and  others. This year, the exhibition covered 17,500 sq.m. The  participants also had a rich business program, which included 25  thematic sessions, conferences, discussions and training seminars.
