ArmInfo. Due to the threat of foot-and-mouth disease, the head of the Inspection Authority for Food Safety of Armenia has issued an order to temporarily ban the import of several meat products from Germany and other countries, specifically of German origin, starting from March 26, 2025.
As noted in the message of the Inspection Authority received by ArmInfo, this ban also applies to products passing through Germany from other countries. Specifically, this include unprocessed skins of cattle and small cattle, pigs, camels, as well as fresh, chilled and frozen meat and offal, including buffalo meat, due to their vulnerability to foot-and-mouth disease. According to the source, the ban was introduced based on information published on the official website of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which reported cases of foot-and-mouth disease in Germany.
