Stepantsminda-Lars highway closed for heavy-duty vehicles

ArmInfo. The Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for heavy- duty vehicles. This was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal  Affairs of Armenia.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Traffic Management Center in North  Ossetia, 946 trucks with Armenian license plates are waiting to cross  the Russian-Georgian border at the Upper Lars checkpoint. A total of  2,921 heavy-duty trucks from various countries are waiting to cross.  The checkpoint is closed due to worsening weather conditions.

The Stepantsminda-Lars highway is the only land route connecting  Armenia through Georgia with the Russian Federation.
