Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan held discussions with several high-ranking officials as part of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, Hovhannisyan met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li. During the meeting, they discussed the results of the 5th review of the IMF stand-by program as well as the macroeconomic situation in Armenia and recent developments in the sector.
During the meeting with the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department Jihad Azour, the parties discussed the Memorandum on the IMF Economic and Financial Policies, along with the potential directions for the upcoming program with the IMF. Working discussions on unresolved issues of the memorandum continued between representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, and the head of the IMF mission in the country, Iva Petrova.
During the negotiations, the parties agreed on almost all of the identified issues. On the occasion of the end of Iva Petrova's term, the Minister expressed gratitude for her invaluable work and effective partnership.
