ArmInfo. Artur Khachatryan, a member of the opposition Hayastan parliamentary faction, promises to speak in more detail in the coming days about the current economic situation in Armenia and the "shameful failures of this government, which are pushing the RA towards an economic crisis and an even deeper debt hole." Today, the parliamentarian only states that the country's economy is on the brink of collapse and presents several facts.
Thus, as Khachatryan pointed out, in the first quarter of 2025:
<1. Taxes collected were 29.5% lower (397.8 billion drams). And this is when the authorities turned on the tax press.
2. Net transfers to individuals (in dollar equivalent) decreased by 1.94 times compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
3. Industrial production volume decreased by 18.5% compared to the first quarter of the previous year. Exports fell by 61.8%, while imports fell by 47.9%. Economic activity grew by only 4.1%. 4. Compared to the first quarter of the previous year (in dollar equivalent), the state debt of the Republic of Armenia increased by 11.7% (by 1.42 billion US dollars)>.
