ArmInfo. The Armenian nuclear power plant will be shut down for scheduled preventive maintenance and refueling on the night of May 14-15. Movses Vardanyan, Director of the Armenian NPP CJSC, shared this information with journalists, during a visit to the plant by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin.
According to him, this year's maintenance period at the NPP will be extended, lasting for 60 days. Additional measures will be taken to replace part of the automation systems and enhance the safety level of the plant. It should be noted that alongside the maintenance, work will continue on the second program to extend the service life of the second power unit until 2036.
