ArmInfo. The Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia visited the Engineering City to get acquainted with the completion of the construction work of the business accelerator building.
The Minister was accompanied by the Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, representatives of the Iranian company Tunnel Sadd Ariana, which is carrying out the construction work, the Director of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan, as well as residents of the Engineering City.
According to the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Bagrat Yengibaryan presented to the head of the department the main areas of activity of the Engineering City, current programs, the process of establishing cooperation with local and international partners, as well as steps aimed at developing the project.
The Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, in turn, emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation between Iran and Armenia. Congratulating on the completion of the business accelerator building, he called it the most important technology center in Armenia.
AMD 1.8bln were allocated for the construction and equipment of the Engineering Business Accelerator building.
The Engineering City project was launched in December 2018 with the aim of developing the high-tech and engineering industry of Armenia. The town is located on an area of 3 hectares in the Bagrevand district of Yerevan and is an innovative cluster that will present production, scientific and educational potential and capacities.
In particular, it is planned to create a new modern infrastructure in the Engineering City, including 5 thematic laboratories for design, as well as a research center that will serve to solve problems of cybersecurity, the production of semiconductors, aerospace equipment, smart devices and other products.
