Armenia, Iraq to sign memorandum of understanding in culture and tourism 

ArmInfo. Armenia has proposed Iraq to sign a memorandum of understanding in the fields of culture and tourism in the near future. This was reported by the press service of the Tourism Committee, citing the results of the meeting between the head of the Armenian Tourism Department Lusine Gevorgyan  and the Charge d'Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Armenia, head of the mission Ali Abdulkarem Utavi.

The parties also discussed the possibilities of deepening industry cooperation, problems in the tourism sector, touched upon the need to simplify visa procedures, ensure direct flights, as well as the possibility of organizing joint marketing events in the two countries and establishing contacts between Armenian and Iraqi travel agencies.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, 5,745 tourists from Iraq visited Armenia in 2024, which is 27.3% lower than the figure for the previous year.
