ArmInfo. As a result of yesterday's negotiations with the Georgian side, 49 cars with Armenian cognac left the Gezi terminal in Tbilisi in the direction of the checkpoint. This was reported on his Facebook page by the Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan.
On June 17, in a conversation with journalists, the head of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia reported that the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia promised to release another 49 cars from the Gezi terminal
For over a month, Armenian exporters of alcoholic beverages have been standing at the Gezi terminal in Georgia. Without any justification or explanation from the regulatory authorities of Georgia, the customs seals of Armenian cargo carriers are opened, samples of manufactured products are taken for laboratory examination without providing the necessary documentation. And the results of these studies are delayed for days and weeks, also without any explanation. The actions of the Georgian side could be understood if the Armenian cargo was to be delivered to the Georgian market, but the territory of this country is only a transit territory for Armenian cargo carriers, and according to the norms of the World Trade Organization, as exporters noted earlier, a transit country does not have the right to detain cargo for laboratory examination.
