ArmInfo. The state should take over the management of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC, as stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference on July 16.
According to him, studies should be conducted on what has happened and is currently happening in the networks. The Prime Minister emphasized that the current situation surrounding the CJSC is not new; complaints about frequent power outages have been voiced for quite some time and continue to be a concern. Pashinyan recalled that he often received signals about the company's problems from citizens during his trips to the regions of the country.
Last year, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan resigned for the same reason. In this context, the position of Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, who oversees the energy sector, remains vacant. However, as the Prime Minister noted, the return of the networks to the state does not mean that the state will be constantly engaged in their management. "Our task is to find an effective manager who will be under clear public and state control," Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
