ArmInfo. Reports in the media claiming a 40% increase in prices for liquefied gas in Armenia due to Georgia's interruption of oil transit from Russia to Armenia are false and "serves to mislead the public, discredit the department and politicize the issue," as noted in a statement issues by the Revenue Service of Georgia's Ministry of Finance, Georgia Online reports.
The statement notes that "in the context of increased cargo turnover, all customs procedures for vehicles conducting international transportation are carried out in a special/enhanced mode to ensure their unimpeded passage." The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia claims that the photo and video materials (vehicles loaded with oil products) distributed by the media do not reflect the real situation at customs checkpoints, including the Kazbegi customs post, where a minor delay of trucks was observed for a short time, but has since been resolved.
According to data from last year, a total of 364,670 trucks passed through the Kazbegi customs point in both directions. "Customs control procedures are under strict control of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, and this process will be continued in the future. Additionally, we once again urge everyone to refrain from disseminating unverified and false information," the agency's statement reads.
