ArmInfo. There were no signals indicating Armenia's desire to leave the CIS, this option is excluded, as was stated by the organization's Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, to TASS during the 106th meeting of the CIS Economic Council.
"I completely exclude this option, there are no signs that Armenia is planning to leave the CIS - I want to say, just like Azerbaijan ," he said, in response to a question about the possibility of Armenia withdrawing from the organization, given recent statements by Prime Minister of the Republic Nikol Pashinyan regarding Armenia's potential withdrawal from the CSTO and intentions to join the EU.
Lebedev emphasized that Armenia continues to participate in various CIS meetings. "Today, an authorized representative of Armenia was present at the meeting of the CIS Economic Council. He addressed the topics at hand and was authorized to sign several documents," the CIS Chairman noted.
