Economist: Change of ENA owner  would hurt Armenia`s energy security

ArmInfo. The current situation in the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) can be attributed to investments, but it is more correct to assess the severity of the threats  in the context of energy security. Economist and head of the Alternative Research Center, Professor Tatul Manaseryan stated this during a press conference on July 18.

He noted that  not all of these can be attributed to investments alone, given that the owner of one of the key strategic infrastructures  will be changed. "Is there a guarantee that the change of owner is a legal process and not illegal, which is quite obvious today," Manaseryan asked, referring to the recent statements made during the press conference of the Prime Minister. Particularly, the economist mentioned that there are no facts to assess the situation, but there is a decision on nationalization. "That is, we will adjust, we will fir everything to this," he commented on authorities' stance. Additionally, Manaseryan pointed out that there is also no guarantee that after the nationalization process, Elnets will not be owned by "our sworn neighbors, who are "sharpening their teeth" to destroy our state."
