
ArmInfo. The four largest telecom operators in Armenia sent 20.4 billion drams to the state treasury in the first half of 2025, which is 5.2% more than the same period last year. Of this amount, 8.9 billion drams were paid as VAT, 3.6 billion as income tax and 2.8 billion as profit tax. This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Among telecom operators, VIVA Armenia continues to hold the leading position, having dropped from 7th to 11th position over the year, having paid 10.5 billion drams to the state treasury, of which 3.98 billion were VAT, 2.6 billion as profit tax and 1.2 billion as income tax.
Next comes Telecom Armenia (TEAM trademark), having moved up from 39th to 37th position in a year, having paid 4.595 billion drams to the state treasury, of which 1.9 billion was VAT, 1.032 billion was income tax and 27.1 million was profit tax.
UCom dropped from 30th to 38th position in a year, having paid 4.581 billion drams to the budget in taxes, of which 2.6 billion was VAT, 1.026 billion was income tax and 74.8 million was profit tax.
"GNC Alfa" (trade mark OVIO) took the 219th position (versus 230th a year earlier), having paid 809.1 million drams in taxes to the state budget, of which 354.5 million was VAT, 318.2 million was income tax and 50.4 million was profit tax.
In the total volume of tax payments of the four telecom operators, 52% falls to VIVA Armenia, 22% each is provided by Telecom Armenia and UCom, and the remaining 4% is the share of GNC Alfa.
In the first half of 2024, the four largest telecom operators reduced their payments to the state treasury in terms of taxes by 8.5% per annum, sending a total of 19.4 billion drams, of which 8.4 billion drams were VAT, 3.6 billion drams were profit tax, and 3.3 billion drams were income tax. Then, VIVA Armenia was also the leader among telecom operators in terms of tax payments, followed by UCom, Telecom Armenia, and GNC Alfa. In the total volume of tax payments of the four telecom operators, over 55% came from VIVA Armenia, over 22% came from UCom, over 19% from Telecom Armenia, and about 4% from GNC Alfa.
