Meanwhile, in Armenia, economic activity growth in the first half of 2025 slowed to 6.3% per annum (from 10.4% in the same period of 2024). Moreover, the industrial sector, which was one of the growth drivers a year earlier, is weakening the pace of economic growth with the current double-digit decline (-12.1%). According to preliminary data from the RA Statistical Committee, this is accompanied by a deterioration in the foreign trade trend from several-fold growth to a significant decline (exports fell by 52.8%, imports - by 38.6%).
According to statistics, such a pronounced slowdown in economic activity growth in the first half of 2025 was largely due to the deterioration in the annual dynamics of the industrial sector from 18.2% growth to 12.1% decline and a strong slowdown in the growth of the trade sector from 22.9% to 3.9%. A weakening of the growth rate is also noted in the energy complex - from 5% to a stagnant 0.8%. At the same time, the service sector managed to accelerate in annual growth from 4.4% to 9.8%, which was also noted in the construction sector - from 15.7% to 18.5%. Acceleration of annual growth was also noted in the agricultural sector - from 4% to 7.3%.
