
ArmInfo. In Armenia, in the first half of 2025, the service sector saw an acceleration in its annual growth rate from 4.4% to 9.8%, reaching 1.8 trillion drams ($4.6 billion). According to data from of the RA Statistics Committee, in June alone, the volume of services provided increased by 1.3%, totaling 322.8 billion drams ($840.2 million). The increase in the growth rate was mainly driven by improvements in the leading information and communication and real estate sectors, as well as the maintenance of growth several areas since previous year.
Specifically, the information and communications sector saw a significant shift in dynamics from an 8.3% decline to a 19% growth rate. There was a slowdown in the annual growth rate in the catering services sector - from 8.2% to 4.4%, culture and entertainment - from 4.6% to 2.3%, education - from 7.9% to 4.1%, healthcare - from 8.9% to 6.6%, administrative and support activities - from 8.8% to 8.4%, professional, scientific and technical activities - from 14.4% to 7.9%, and the financial sector - from 19% to 16.5%. Additionally, real estate services accelerated in growth from 11.5% to 12.6%, while the transport sector experienced a decline in rates from 16.8% to 11.9%. The financial sector leads in terms of the volume of services provided - 31.6% or 572 billion drams, with 445.5 billion drams provided by banks. The information and communication sector comes in second - 21.6% or 392.4 billion drams. The third place in terms of services is occupied by the transport sector - 9.3% or 168.6 billion drams, followed closely by the catering and tourism sector - 9.3% or 167.6 billion drams. The top five in terms of services provided is rounded out by the culture, entertainment and recreation sector - 145.3 billion drams (8% of the total).
Note that the average exchange rate of the dram against the US dollar in January-June 2025 was AMD 391.31 / $ 1, and in June - AMD 384.22 / $ 1.
