ArmInfo. Armenia attaches importance to the interaction of the customs services of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Eurasian Economic Commission in the field of monitoring the customs declaration of taxable goods. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the EAEU member states in Cholpon Ata on August 15.
According to him, such cooperation is an important tool for ensuring proper control over the cost of goods, which has a direct impact on the budget revenues of the EAEU countries. "Further formation of common energy markets of the Union countries and ensuring their energy security remain a priority for the Republic of Armenia. Accelerated formation of common energy markets on non-discriminatory principles of operation should become one of the foundations for ensuring equal conditions for economic activity for all EAEU member states," Grigoryan said.
He added that a great deal of work has been done through joint efforts to form and operate a common market for medicines and medical devices in the EAEU, which should facilitate the launch of this common market next year.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia is considering the implementation of the digital agenda in the EAEU as another area for sustainable economic growth. Modern challenges require not only institutional solutions, but also reliance on technological tools. "Artificial intelligence and digital technologies are becoming the most important resource for the formation of new, more effective models of interaction both in the economic sphere and in corporate and public administration. In order to optimize business processes in integrated digital platforms within the EAEU, it is necessary to carry out coordinated work to improve electronic management systems and implement cybersecurity mechanisms," the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia emphasized.
He noted that the key area of development of the EAEU is the transport and logistics sector. Diversification of the transport infrastructure will give an additional impetus to both the export of goods to third countries and the growth of trade turnover in the EAEU. In this regard, Grigoryan once again pointed to the regional project "Crossroads of the World" initiated by the RA government, which is aimed at creating reliable interconnected transport routes that ensure sustainable regional development and strengthening economic ties between all interested states based on full respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of states, as well as the principle of reciprocity.
"Armenia consistently advocates compliance with the fundamental principles laid down in the Treaty on the EAEU and expresses readiness for active interaction with the EAEU member states in the interests of further development of economic cooperation," the RA Deputy Prime Minister summarized his speech.
