ArmInfo. According to the results of the first quarter, Armenia's GDP growth reached 5.1%, showing an increase in the growth rate to 5.9% in the second quarter. The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, shared this information on his Facebook page. He noted that the draft budget at the end of last year had projected a 5.1% GDP growth for 2025.
Note that according to data from the RA Statistical Committee, economic activity growth in Armenia in the first half of 2025 slowed down to 6.3% per annum (from 10.4% in the same period of 2024). This significant slowdown in economic activity growth in the first half of 2025 was largely due to the deterioration in the annual dynamics of the industrial sector, which went from 18.2% growth to 12.1% decline, and a strong slowdown in the growth of the trade sector from 22.9% to 3.9%. However, there was some acceleration in growth rates in the energy complex - from 2.2% to 4%. The service sector also managed to accelerate significantly in annual growth from 4.4% to 9.8%, as did the construction sector - from 15.7% to 18.5%. Additionally, there was an acceleration of annual growth recorded in the agricultural sector, from 4% to 7.3%.
