Armenian premier visits Expo 2025 Osaka

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Expo 2025 World Exhibition in Osaka. He announced this on his Facebook page, publishing a video.

It should be noted that Expo 2025 Osaka opened on April 13, 2024 and  will run until October 13, 2025.

Reflecting on the theme of Expo 2025 Osaka and taking the necessary actions has become the  mission of this century. The international community has made serious  efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030,  and these efforts are in line with the significance of the Expo.

The venue for the exhibition is the artificial island of Yumeshima,  located off the waterfront in Osaka, overlooking the Seto Inland Sea.  A total of 28 million people are expected to visit the event. In  early September, the RA Ministry of Economy reported that the  Armenian pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka World Exhibition had already  been visited by about 1 million people. The Armenian pavilion is  divided into several sectors: the first sector introduces visitors to  the model of modern education in our country, which includes the TUMO  Center for Creative Technologies, Armath engineering laboratories,  COAF technologies and a number of other educational programs of  interest to the Japanese public. The next sector is high technology,  including the IT sector and high-tech industry. The third direction  is tourism and the last sector is food and wine.

As noted by the department, a large event will be held on September 5  within the framework of the exhibition, which will be dedicated to  the National Day of Armenia. A rather rich and interesting program is  expected.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover  between Armenia and Japan in January-June 2025 amounted to $64.3  million, with an annual growth of 18.2%. At the same time, exports  increased 2.7 times to $10.3 million, against the backdrop of import  growth by 6.7% to $54 million. During the first half of the year,  1,081 tourists from Japan visited Armenia, which is 37.7% higher than  the figure for the previous year.
