
ArmInfo. Armenia and Japan discussed prospects for developing economic cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, citing the results of the meeting of the Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan with the Deputy Parliamentary Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hisashi Matsumoto.
According to the source, the issues discussed also included opportunities for expanding business ties and implementing new investment projects. Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Hovakimyan and Director of the Investment Promotion Fund Gohar Abajyan also took part in the meeting.
The latter took place within the framework of an official dinner organized by the Japanese side.
According to statistics, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Japan in January-July 2025 amounted to $80.4 million, which is 16.1% higher than the figure a year ago. At the same time, exports demonstrated growth of 2.9 times to $13 million, against the backdrop of import growth of 4.2% to $67.4 million.
