Armenia`s electric energy output shows 6.5% y/y decline

ArmInfo.  In January-July 2025, Armenia generated 5,557.6 million kWh of electricity, which is 6.5% higher than the same period last year. According to the RA  Statistical Committee, in July alone, electricity generation  increased by 23% to 862.5 million kWh.

In particular, in January-July 2025, hydroelectric power plants  increased electricity production by 20.8% per annum to 1,511.5  million kWh, and the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant by 0.4% to 1,403.2  million kWh. At the same time, thermal power plants reduced  electricity generation by 17.1% per annum to 1,715.3 million kWh.  Wind power plants produced 0.4 million kWh of electricity in the  reporting period, reducing their volumes by 43.2%. And electricity  generation by solar power plants increased by 70.3% - to 927.2  million kWh.
