ArmInfo.The Armenian authorities will allocate slightly over 1 billion drams for the Bord er Areas Development Program in 2026. The corresponding decision was  made on September 25 at a regular government meeting.

As stated in the explanatory note to the document, on December 18,  2014, in order to make life as easy as possible for residents of the  Republic of Armenia's border communities and improve their living  conditions, a government resolution was adopted defining the amount  of social assistance provided to border communities of the Republic  of Armenia subject to compensation, the procedure for its provision,  and the list of border communities receiving compensation. Residents  of 82 settlements in 13 border communities receive assistance under  this program.

The draft proposes to allocate 1,048,000 drams for the implementation  of the Border Areas Development Program for 2026. With the adoption  of the draft resolution, state support will be provided to border  communities in terms of compensation for residents' expenses on  natural gas, electricity, irrigation water, and full compensation for  property taxes," the document states.
