ArmInfo. Babken Tunyan, deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and member of the ruling Civil Contract faction, responded to the statements made by David Ananyan, former head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, regarding the risks of opening the borders with Turkey for the Armenian economy.
"Former SRC chairman David Ananyan asserts in a Facebook post that "opening borders may have a certain political and psychological significance, but economically, it doesn't offer a wide range of opportunities. Instead, it carries the risks of vulnerability and dependence."
According to Mr. Ananyan's analysis, it turns out that Armenia has been attempting for 30 years to expose itself to risk and economic damage (to unblock itself), but the neighboring countries that have blockaded us (Turkey) have generously prevented this.
This is, indeed, an interesting thesis," Tunyan wrote on social media.
