
ArmInfo. Armenia generated 6,508.1 million kWh of electricity in January-August 2025, up 7.1% year-on-year.
According to the RA Statistical Committee, electricity generation increased by 10.2% in August alone, reaching 950.9 million kWh.
In particular, in January-August 2025, hydroelectric power plants increased their electricity generation by 23.2% year-on-year, reaching 1,699.2 million kWh, while the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) increased its output by 7.8%, reaching 1,710 million kWh. Meanwhile, thermal power plants (TPPs) reduced their output by 19.1% year-on-year, reaching 1,980.5 million kWh.
Wind power plants generated 0.5 million kWh of electricity during the reporting period, a 36.6% year-on- year decline. Solar power generation, meanwhile, increased by 69.2% to 1,117.9 million kWh.
