ArmInfo. Armenian farmers have harvested 205,000 tons of grapes to date, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan wrote on his Facebook account.
He noted that this volume exceeds the harvest volume for the entire previous year by 41,000 tons, or 25%. Previously, the minister predicted that 2025 would close with a harvest volume of 196,000-197,000 tons. Armenia harvested 164,000 tons of grapes in all of 2024.
According to the RA Customs Service, Armenia exported 12,700 tons of fresh and dried grapes in 2024, a 20.5% decrease from the previous year. The customs value decreased by 14.3% to $10.9 million. Armenia exports over 83.5% of its grapes to the Russian market.
As a reminder, in early October of this year, the Armenian government approved the procedure for providing budget guarantees for loans allocated to economic entities for grape procurement.
Specifically, the draft stipulates that budget guarantees will be provided to economic entities engaged in grape procurement under the program for loans issued from September 1 to December 30, 2025. The amount of the provided budget guarantee shall not exceed 50% of the loan amount, but no more than the value of exported products in 2024. The minimum amount of the provided budget guarantee is 100 million drams. Budget guarantees may be provided without additional collateral. The beneficiary's repayment of the principal debt on the loan must be used primarily to repay the obligations secured by the budget guarantees. Budget guarantees are provided with a maximum repayment period of up to twenty-seven months.
