
ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan received an Austrian business delegation. The delegation included representatives from Kahlbacher Machinery GmbH, Kapsch TrafficCom AG, and FREQUENTIS AG, all of whom are interested in opportunities for collaboration with Armenian public and private entities. The meeting was attended by Austrian Honorary Consul to Armenia Aram Marutyan and staff of the Austrian Embassy in Armenia.
According to the ministry's press service, the Deputy Minister highly appreciated the existing level of relations between the two countries, particularly in the transportation sector. He presented programs implemented in Armenia, areas of cooperation, and prospects for infrastructure development.
During the meeting, representatives of the Austrian delegation discussed their companies' activities, prospects, and expectations. Armen Simonyan also talked about the support programs implemented by the Armenian government in the air transport sector, as well as a study supported by the European Union's EPIC Fund aimed at introducing an electronic toll collection and weighing system for trucks on Armenian roads. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the discussions.
Note that ,according to the RA Statistics Committee, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Austria increased by 12.1% in January-August 2025, reaching $40.7 million. Exports increased by 3.2 times to $6.7 million, while imports declined by 0.6% to $34 million.
