
ArmInfo. Arsen Torosyan, Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, presented the country's social protection priorities to Luke Fochtman, Deputy Country Director for Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Resident Mission in Armenia, and Sofia Shakil, ADB Director for Human and Social Development.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the priorities include housing and services for persons with disabilities. Torosyan mentioned the Bank's support for creating an appeals module for the new disability assessment system and recalled loan and grant agreements aimed at providing housing to forcibly displaced citizens from Artsakh, which are currently being finalized. The parties also discussed the progress made in the digitalization of social services. In this regard, the Minister praised the effective collaboration with the ADB in creating and implementing the e-Disability electronic platform for assessing individual functionality.
Shakil, in turn, emphasized the importance of implementing programs aimed at increasing the population's resilience and the work done with the ADB in this area. She also commended the country's current social policy.
