ArmInfo.  In 2024 alone, Armenia exported 48 million liters of bottled brandy (cognac),  ranking as the third largest  exporter worldwide, after France and  Singapore, as announced during a seminar with the participation of  the representatives  of Armenian brandy producers and  the Ministry  of Economy. The seminar was organized within the framework of the EU-  funded "Technical Assistance for the Development of Geographical  Indications (GI) Armenian Brandy" project.

According to the press service of the EU Mission to Armenia, the  seminar participants discussed potential export markets for Armenian  brandy  GI, product specification, and  control, certification, and  traceability system for future GI products.  Building on this  remarkable potential, the project is helping Armenia take the next  step toward officially establishing the GI Armenian Brandy - a  milestone to safeguard quality, authenticity, and heritage in both  national and international markets.
