
ArmInfo. 35.3 billion drams will be allocated for the development of Armenia's water sector in 2026. This was announced by David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, during discussions in the RA National Assembly committees on the draft 2026 state budget.
According to him, budget funds will be allocated to the implementation of five programs and 34 measures. Of these funds, 23.1 billion drams are planned for the improvement of the water system, 57.7% of which is intended for capital construction.
The minister noted that the Kaps Reservoir construction project will continue next year, and 7.7 billion drams will be allocated for this program. The program also plans to relocate residents of the flooded village of Jrajdzor.
Furthermore, the minister continued, 3.7 billion drams will be allocated to improve the water management system, with another 7 billion drams to be provided in subsidies to water user unions and 1.3 billion drams to co-finance Jraj company programs.
AMD 1bln will also be allocated for research and feasibility studies for the construction of 12 small reservoirs, as well as for the start of construction of five reservoirs: Kasakh, Elpin, Lichk, Artik, and Astghadzor. 264.3 million drams will be allocated for the modernization of existing reservoirs.
