ArmInfo. The grain supply situation is developing very dynamically. This was stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a briefing on November 6.
According to him, the first grain train was initially planned to arrive only from Kazakhstan, but it was later revealed that Azerbaijan had also granted transit rights to the Russian Federation. Therefore, the freight train carrying Kazakh grain has not yet reached its destination, but it is already close.
The Prime Minister emphasized that requests are currently being generated for the delivery of certain types of goods via the same route, which could qualify as a re-arrangement of cargo. Pashinyan did not rule out that the situation is changing almost daily, as more and more requests are being received. He noted the need to clarify issues related to the return shipment of goods. "Over time, the Armenian public will learn about this. Overall, I believe this is a very important event. I once again declare our readiness to utilize the Margara-Kornidzor transport route, which Armenia will use to ensure the transit of Turkish and Azerbaijani cargo through its territory-from Turkey to Azerbaijan and from Azerbaijan to Turkey," the head of the Armenian government said.
As a reminder, a freight train carrying Russian grain arrived in Armenia overnight via Azerbaijan and Georgia, more than 30 years after its transit. Grain from Kazakhstan is also expected to arrive via the same route today.
