Current figures for mutual tourist visits do not reflect full  potential of Armenian-Qatari cooperation

ArmInfo.  Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Armenian Tourism Committee, met with Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji, Head of the Qatar Tourism Authority. The parties discussed  opportunities to deepen cooperation between Armenia and Qatar in  tourism, building on the existing legal framework between the two  governments and growing mutual interest.

During the meeting, they noted that despite a visa-free regime and  direct flights, current figures for mutual tourist visits do not yet  reflect the full potential of bilateral cooperation.

The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint marketing  initiatives and discussed Armenia's proposal to hold a bilateral  working group meeting in Armenia in 2025. The goal of the discussion  is to analyze tourism trends, present new products, and develop new  areas of cooperation.

Lusine Gevorgyan invited her Qatari counterpart and private sector  representatives to participate in the International Tourism  Exhibition, which will be held in Yerevan from November 21-23, 2025,  and will serve as a platform for strengthening bilateral cooperation.  The Qatari delegation was also invited to the lighting ceremony of  Armenia's main New Year's tree, which will take place on December 13,  2025, in Yerevan.

It is worth noting that, according to the Statistics Committee, 230  tourists from Qatar visited Armenia from January to September 2025,  an 8% decrease compared to the same period last year.
