
ArmInfo. Armenia and Uruguay intend to deepen cooperation in the tourism sector. This was reported by the Tourism Committee, citing the results of a meeting between the chair of the tourism committee, Lusine Gevorgyan, and the Ambassador of Uruguay to Armenia, Silvana Lesca Barolini.
According to the source, the parties discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in tourism, presenting current programs and achievements in the industry. They touched on the importance of presenting the tourism potential of both countries and raising awareness of marketing initiatives, as well as establishing links between travel agencies in Armenia and Uruguay, including organizing online webinars.
In the context of expanding long-term cooperation in tourism, the interlocutors emphasized the need to launch direct flights between the two countries and their importance for increasing tourist flows. Following the meeting, they emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening cooperation. It should be noted that, according to the RA Statistics Committee, 124 tourists from Uruguay visited Armenia in January-September, which is 65.3% higher than last year's figure.
