ArmInfo. The Armenian Minister of Economy held a brief meeting with the Indian Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the meeting took place during the official reception of the CII Partnership Summit 2025. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing direct flights between Armenia and India.
It is worth noting that the Indian Minister of Civil Aviation discussed this issue in September of this year with the Armenian Ambassador to India, Vahagn Afyan, during an event organized for the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in New Delhi.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in India, Afyan, given the friendly relations between the two countries, deemed it necessary to take active steps to ensure air connectivity and launch the necessary direct flights. Ram Mohan Naidoo responded positively and assured of the proper progress.
As a reminder, back in January of this year, Armenian Airlines announced the launch of a Yerevan-Delhi service, which was to become the first direct flight linking Armenia and India. Flights were expected to begin on February 21st, with a frequency of twice a week-on Tuesdays and Fridays-using Airbus 321- 200 aircraft, each with a capacity of 220 passengers. However, since this announcement, no further information has been received regarding the service's implementation.
