
ArmInfo. Armenia and Iraq are planning to sign a memorandum of cooperation in tourism, as reported by the press service of the Tourism Committee, citing the results of a meeting between the head of the Committee, Lusine Gevorgyan, and the Charge d'Affaires of Iraq in Armenia, Mohammed Al-Sheikhli.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the procedure and timeline for signing the draft memorandum. They and also talked about the current state and ongoing programs in tourism, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation in the tourism sector. The importance of establishing cooperation between tourism companies in both countries, including through online meetings was emphasized.
It should be noted that, according to the Statistics Committee, 968 tourists from Iraq visited Armenia in January-September, which is 81.7% lower than the same period last year.
