ArmInfo. The Armenia-EU partnership is improving day by day; a new Partnership Strategy was adopted today, as stated by Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, at a press conference following the 6th meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council. According to her, this new ambitious agenda aims to expand cooperation in several areas, including diversification of the Armenian economy and security.
She also announced that a meeting of EU foreign ministers will be held in December. "I invite you, Mr. Mirzoyan, to this meeting, where issues related to strengthening Armenia's resilience and the elections will be discussed," the EU official added. Additionally, Kallas noted that 2025 was a crucial year for EU- Armenia relations, and the agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan, reached on August 8, which ended the decades-long conflict, were also crucial. She noted that the EU will support Armenia in this matter.
"Today, I am announcing 15 million, which will be used to promote peace and strengthen Armenia's resilience. A number of initiatives will be implemented. Of course, Armenia faces other challenges. Ahead of the parliamentary elections, Russia and its proxies are launching disinformation attacks against Armenia. The same networks actively used in Moldova, are being used. The scenario is the same. The aforesaid EU funding will help detect and counter external influences," Kallas said, adding that Armenia is not alone in facing external challenges, and the EU stands with it in addressing them.
In turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed confidence that the partnership between Armenia and the EU will continue to strengthen Armenia's resilience, including in the face of hybrid threats. He also outlined the areas in which the parties are closely collaborating, ranging from the launch of visa liberalization to cooperation in the security sector.
