ArmInfo. The aircraft operating the Yerevan-Kapan route is undergoing technical inspection, and for this reason, the route is not currently being serviced, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government hour in the National Assembly on December 3.
According to him, the issue is purely technical. Until the aircraft's technical inspection is completed, another aircraft is planned to be used. Flights on this route are currently subsidized, and in this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to increase passenger traffic, which will lead to increased commercial interest in servicing this route.
Pashinyan emphasized that the development of small aviation is one of the Armenian government's priorities and opportunities for opening airports in Shinuhayr, Stepanavan, Sisian, Gavar, and Berd are currently being explored. The possibility of involving private companies in this work is being considered.
