ArmInfo. "Online as at home: know your rights, buy wisely" - this topic has been approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission as a priority for work in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2026. The EEC Board adopted a corresponding recommendation for Union countries at its meeting on December 24. According to the Commission's press service, the chosen topic will draw further public attention to the problems of interaction between consumers and entrepreneurs in the digital space and will help strengthen trust between them.
In 2026, EAEU countries have planned information and educational events to raise citizens' awareness of their online rights, behavioral patterns, and the selection of goods and services in the virtual space.
This work will cover residents of all five member states. According to a survey conducted by the Commission, 95% of the population of Union countries purchase goods online, 80% of whom purchase not only goods but also services. At the same time, the problem of violations of their rights in online commerce is becoming increasingly acute: one in two residents of EAEU countries has encountered such a violation.
The 2026 theme was proposed by the Advisory Committee on Consumer Rights Protection of the Union countries following a public vote conducted by the Commission.
