Electronic employment contracts take effect from Jan 1, 2026

Electronic employment contracts take effect from Jan 1, 2026

ArmInfo. Starting January 1, 2026, all employment contracts will be concluded exclusively electronically. Zhora Sargsyan, Head of the Labor and Employment  Department of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, announced this at a press conference on January 7.

According to him, the implementation of the new system will allow  both employers and employees to resolve a number of issues.  Specifically, employers and employees will conclude contracts in  accordance with the approved form. This will eliminate any concerns  about the documents being concluded not complying with legal  requirements. Furthermore, the issue of not having an employment  contract with the employer, or a more recent form, will be resolved.  Once the contract is concluded, the employee will be able to view the  document electronically on the "This is Me" page. Sargsyan noted that  the implementation of this new system will also improve the oversight  functions of inspection bodies. All existing paper contracts must be  converted to electronic format by December 31, 2026.

In turn, Anna Pogosyan, Head of Business at Bentconsrtuct, stated  that the electronic system is fully prepared for this new  implementation. Prior to its full implementation on October 1, 2025,  it operated in a pilot mode on a voluntary basis. A total of 433  employment contracts were concluded during this period.
