ArmInfo. 378,000 citizens, representing 57% of all eligible beneficiaries, have used the cashback system, as stated by Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan during a press conference on January 9.
He emphasized that the implementation of this program is no coincidence and has two goals. "The first is to allow our citizens to receive higher pensions, and the second is to exit the shadow economy. In other words, it's a win-win solution," the Minister noted.
Torosyan recalled that the cashback threshold was raised from 12% to 20% by government decision, as the authorities consider this tool effective. At the same time, the Minister did not rule out that this threshold would be revised again in the future.
