
ArmInfo. The CIS Electric Power Council is developing a draft strategy for the development of the Commonwealth's fuel and energy complex through 2050. This was announced by Sergei Lebedev, Secretary General of the Commonwealth, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"In order to create additional mechanisms for industry development and effectively respond to challenges affecting the fuel and energy complex and requiring coordinated efforts, the CIS Electric Power Council is developing a draft strategy for the development of the fuel and energy complex of CIS member states through 2050," the Secretary General stated.
Speaking about energy stability, Lebedev noted that CIS member states recognize that ensuring energy security is a priority of their state policy and a key area of cooperation in this area.
"To comprehensively address this issue, the Declaration on Cooperation in Ensuring Regional Energy Security, initiated by the Russian side, was adopted in October 2025," Lebedev noted.
