Hiroaki Yamaguchi, thanking for the reception, emphasized the Asian Development Bank's readiness to facilitate the formation of a new vision for infrastructure development, build knowledge, and provide financial support.
In turn, Kristine Ghalechyan emphasized the importance of programs implemented in cooperation with the ADB. She noted that the Armenian government is interested in both completing existing programs and developing and implementing new ones.
The parties agreed to continue discussions. It is worth noting that the Asian Development Bank is Armenia's second largest creditor, with a 21.2% share (as of April 2025). The bank has been working with Armenia since 2005 and has implemented numerous projects in the country aimed at developing the transport, financial, energy, water, and other infrastructure sectors. According to its April forecast update, the ADB expects Armenia's GDP to grow by 5% in 2025, slowing to 4.7% in 2026.
