
ArmInfo. Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, received Mohammed Nasr, Regional Director of the Lufthansa Group.
According to the Committee's press service, the parties discussed cooperation opportunities, upcoming events, and the dynamics of tourist visits in recent years.
The parties emphasized the importance of ensuring flight continuity, noting their positive impact, and also emphasized the need to provide customers with high-quality and comfortable services.
Lufthansa is Germany's flagship airline and Europe's largest airline group, which also includes major airlines such as Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines. Lufthansa is also a co-founder of the world's oldest and largest airline alliance, Star Alliance, established in 1997. On July 15, 2021, it was reported that, following lengthy negotiations, Lufthansa decided to enter the Armenian market on August 13 of that same year.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, air passenger traffic in 2025 increased by 6.7% (compared to a 0.4% decline in 2024), reaching 5,755,700 passengers. The number of tourists visiting Armenia in 2025 reached 2.27 million, an increase of almost 3% compared to the same period last year.
