ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to continue to expand mutual trade with Kazakhstan in a balanced manner on mutually beneficial terms. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Anushik Avetyan and a delegation led by Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Specifically, she emphasized that Armenia is interested in both increasing the export of high-quality Armenian products to Kazakhstan and expanding the import of Kazakh goods, which are in demand on the Armenian market.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, during the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation. They noted that economic relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan have shown positive momentum in recent years, but the existing potential has not yet been fully realized.
The parties discussed opportunities for deepening investment cooperation. In this context, they presented existing state support instruments in Armenia, including those available to organizations operating in the country. These include subsidized interest rates on loans and leasing, investment incentive programs, export support mechanisms, assistance with product certification, and other industry-specific instruments.
The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in trade, investment, logistics, digitalization, light industry, the agri-food sector, and processing. In this context, they emphasized the importance of expanding wheat imports from Kazakhstan, as well as the need to develop new transport and logistics routes to deepen economic cooperation with Central Asian countries and strengthen regional connectivity. It should be noted that, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan increased by 6.3% in 2025, reaching $115.9 million. Export volumes increased by 4.6% to $82.5 million, while imports grew by 10.7% to $33.4 million.
According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, Kazakhstan ranked third in terms of positive net investment in the real sector of the Armenian economy, with $54.5 million (20.8 billion drams, with a 2.5- fold increase annually). While previously this figure was entirely represented by FDI, its share is now negligible. Kazakhstan primarily directed its investments toward metal ore mining, a sector it had not previously invested in, while the remainder continued to be spent in the areas of law and accounting.
