ArmInfo. The government will assist farmers in purchasing fertilizers at affordable prices. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced this in a video message on his official Facebook page.
He explained that this need arose amid rising fertilizer prices worldwide due to geopolitical events. Accordingly, the state is prepared to subsidize part of the costs - up to 3,000 drams for every 50 kg of fertilizer (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium).
If, for example, the market price of fertilizer is 11,000 drams, the state will cover 3,000 drams, making the cost to the farmer 8,000 drams. "If the price is 11,500 drams, the subsidy will also be 3,000 drams, and if the price is 10,500 drams, it will be 2,500 drams," Papoyan said.
The head of the department announced that the corresponding program will be adopted at the next government meeting.
