Armenia`s potential membership in IFAR discussed in Paris

ArmInfo. Karen Alaverdyan, Head of the Department for Accounting and Audit Activities Regulation and Reports Monitoring at the Ministry of  Finance of Armenia, participated in the 20th plenary session of the  International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFAR) in Paris.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, during the  session, Alaverdyan held meetings with the IFAR Chairman, Deputy  Chairman, and Executive Director. He presented the current state of  legal regulation of the audit industry in the Republic of Armenia,  existing challenges, and upcoming steps to develop the industry.

The parties discussed the potential for Armenia's membership in IFAR,  in particular, issues of compliance with the established requirements  for joining the organization. 

Established in Paris in 2006 by independent audit regulators from 18  jurisdictions, IFIAR has grown to 56 Members around the world.  IFIAR's mission is to serve the public interest, including investors,  by enhancing audit oversight globally. The overall objective is to:  share knowledge of the evolving audit environment and the practical  experience of independent audit regulatory activity, promote  collaboration and consistency in regulatory activity and provide a  platform for dialogue with other international organizations  interested in audit quality.
