
ArmInfo. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and his Armenian counterpart Mnatsakan Safaryan, at a meeting in Yerevan, advocated for intensifying bilateral economic cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation arrived in Yerevan to participate in the international conference "Yerevan Dialogue."
According to the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Turkmenistan, during the talks, the diplomats noted the high level of political and diplomatic interaction between the two countries. It was emphasized that regular dialogue at the highest level is the foundation of bilateral cooperation. Systematic inter-MFA consultations were identified as an important tool for partnership. The parties noted their close cooperation on international platforms, with the Turkmen side expressing gratitude to the Armenian side for its support of Turkmenistan's foreign policy initiatives put forward within reputable international structures.
Regarding trade and economic cooperation, the meeting participants emphasized the need to intensify existing instruments for diversifying and increasing mutual trade. In this regard, the coordinating role of the Turkmen-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was noted. A commitment to creating conditions for direct interaction between commercial entities and the private sector of the two countries was also expressed.
In the context of developing cultural and humanitarian partnership, its high level was noted. To further strengthen humanitarian ties between the peoples, the Turkmen side proposed holding future Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Armenia.
