ArmInfo. The government has not backed down from its decision regarding the Araratcement plant. Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan told reporters.
He emphasized that the issue regarding the factory will be resolved strictly within the framework of the law, mirroring the process applied to the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA). "We are already in the final stages of the ENA process. In the near future, the Electric Networks of Armenia will become the property of the Republic of Armenia and its citizens. The same fate awaits 'Araratcement,'" Khudatyan stated.
Note, the announcement aligns with recent remarks by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Lori region, who declared the upcoming nationalization of the Ararat Cement Plant (Araratcement CJSC), a subsidiary of Gagik Tsarukyan's Multi Group Concern. The executive branch has acted upon an official brief from the Prosecutor General's Office detailing legal violations during the asset's initial privatization. Describing the plant as the "business backbone" of the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, the Prime Minister stated that upon nationalization, the enterprise will transfer to state ownership, effectively "freeing" the workforce from Tsarukyan's control.
