Overchuk: Situation surrounding Armenia`s plans to join EU creating  uncertainty for investors

ArmInfo. The situation surrounding Armenia's plans to join the European Union is creating uncertainty for investors. According to TASS, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told reporters this.

"You know, of course, the current situation is creating great  uncertainty for investors as well," he said, answering a question  about whether investment between Armenia and Russia is curtailing in  light of Yerevan's plans to join the EU.

At the same time, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister expressed doubts  about Yerevan's withdrawal from the EAEU. "Armenia, as we know, has  no intention of leaving the Eurasian Economic Union. They are well  aware of both the scope of preferences and the volume of trade with  other EAEU member states. This volume of trade has been made  possible, to a large extent, by the preferential regimes that exist  for Armenia. These include zero customs duties, harmonized standards,  and harmonized technical regulations.  Today, our markets are open,  and there is free movement of goods. Therefore, Armenians are well  aware of the advantages that participation in the Eurasian Economic  Union provides them, and they do not want to leave," said Alexey  Overchuk.
