Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko voiced this assessment while addressing the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana on May 29. "Both the EEC and all of us need to rectify this situation," he emphasized.
According to the Belarusian president, while the mechanism for stimulating cooperation has been launched, its scale and impact remain insignificant. "We are unable to find worthy joint allied projects. At the same time, we are creating duplicate manufacturing facilities, and then we put all our effort into protecting them from one another," he stated.
Recall, back in 2024, in order to develop cooperative collaboration among EAEU member states, the Commission together with business representatives and authorized government bodies of the Union nations developed a mechanism for the financial support of industrial cooperation projects. This financing is provided by subsidizing a portion of the interest rate on credits and loans in the amount of 100% of the key rate of the respective Central (National) Bank.
