ArmInfo. RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan will participate in the international maritime forum to be held in Batumi. The decision to send the minister was signed by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the government press service, Khudatyan will be in Georgia on September 6-7.
The upcoming event is noteworthy for the simple reason that the "Middle Corridor" project will be discussed there.
It is worth noting that the Georgian International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026) will be held in Batumi on September 7-8. According to the Maritime Transport Agency, the event will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Georgia, with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and with the organizational support of the Maritime Transport Agency. GIMF 2026 is an international event of paramount importance that will strengthen Georgia's status as a maritime nation. The event aims to showcase the development potential of the Middle Corridor and strengthen regional transport links globally. Up to 400 delegates from approximately 40 countries will participate in the event. GIMF 2026 will bring together ministers and high-ranking officials from various countries, including heads of maritime administrations, as well as secretaries general of international organizations dealing with logistics issues, representatives of international financial institutions, the private sector, and academia. According to the agency, the Georgian International Maritime Forum has been held since 2016. This year, the forum will focus on priority areas such as the development of the Middle Corridor, regional transport and logistics connectivity, innovation, sustainable maritime transport, strengthening public-private partnerships, and others.
